makes sense!

Case II : X and Y meet up daily, they are cubemates at the office, they go to the foodcout together. And post dinnner Y chooses to come online.
X:Hi doood!
Y:Hey bro!
X:ssup?
Y:u temme ssup...

Case III : Case I and Case II were independent of the gender of X and Y.Now, Y is a friend(girl) of X who got married recently.
X:Hi Y!
Y:Hey,hw r u?
X:Am good!U temme,how's life?
Y: :)
X: So,how's ur hubby?
Does it make any sense? Why do people ask these clichéd questions?None of them is interested, you are getting no information out of it,you are just wasting the other person's time and bandwidth!

KK's guide to identifying if you are boring-the-other-person-in-the-convo-to-death

1.Sometime into the discussion and the other person replies you in "ohkie(and its derivatives "owk","k","ohk","kk","okies")","aha",":)","hmm..."
What Do I Infer? Means that the discussion is going to end in another couple of minutes, choose not to reply to end the discussion straight away, the other person will like it that way too.
2.After a long silence one of you keys in stuff like "watelse","aur kya" ,"and..."
What Do I derive from this? Means that none has anything else to say, type in a bye(or bbyeeee or bubye or byeee in some instances) and close the window.
3.You see "X is typing" on your chat window for a long time
What Do I Infer? Means that the person at the other end has hit a space key or something and is working on something else). This might be either to give you an illusion that he still has something to say and shush you for sometime or by mistake(rare instances)
4. You are typing in something and the status icon goes red(busy)What Do I Infer? Means DoNot Disturb on non MS Office Communicators.Stop typing and mind your work!

So,What?By following these steps and cutting a uselessly long discussion short you are
· Helping save power and there by environment
· Saving bandwidth
· Saving your time
· Saving the other person's time and bandwidth too

Spoorthi

Of all the orphanages we visited this season,Spoorthi is better off when compared to the others. There are many who care about it,So,when we went in with an years supply of notebooks, toys n textbooks,we found out that there was already enough to start a mini stationanary shop down there. But,how many orphanages are this lucky? So,we are planning to move to the city suburbs and villages for the next cycle,as there are many organisations in the city which are aware of the plight of such orphanages.
It all went on pretty smooth.Spending some quality time with the kids is always fun!
By the time we reached , there was already a group there, they were celebrating the birthday of one of the girls. The smile you see on their faces when they have their fav bar of chocolate in their hands or a football or when their team wins a match,is worth driving down a thousand kilometers for!
We even had a cricket match(T20) between the kids and Us,then some high catches to more girly skipping n stuff like that.

High catches was the best and most enjoyed game of the day.

While most them were busy playing, there were others who had their own version of recreation.

We also had a crash course in karate :P(Aah! and you thought this was all for the camera,eh?)

We had a mini photo shoot too,sample this RayBan/Fastrack/Police Ad shoot(Fall 2009)

Baby!Don't die on me!

How is anyone supposed to feel after he lost someone whom he loved the most!?!She gave him company, stayed through the best and the worst of times, played some good music whenever he was depressed, called up some close friends whenever he was down, tagged along wherever he went and did world of other things just to keep him happy. The symbiotic relationship they shared bewildered a few, irked others, remaining ignored! And one day she died on him!The doc looked at her, examined for a while and declared her : brought dead, the world around him came crashing down.Devastated! My mobile,my companion for the past few years...she's no more!can there be anything worse than this?It was my music player, blog interface, media connect, camera she was everything! It was a friend, memoir, scribblepad EVERYTHING!!!How can anything fill this void?I feel so handicapped,as if some part of my body had been amptuated. Now,the mobile service center guy(doc) is my only hope.I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and praying for the best, some miracle,a bolt of lightning, a clap of thunder, something!
Please come back to me!Am so lonely without you baby!

Kids can teach you stuff like no one can! Our recent trip to Aadarna was one such experience.Kids are always fun to be with,we started the day with some ice breakers, then we had the Creative round.Gave them some icecream sticks, glue n strings and asked them to build anything they wanted to and the stuff they came up with was fab!
From the Dilshukhnagar TV tower to a turbine to the Sec'bad railway.I felt that this freedom had somehow died on me with age.I was like them too, look at me now!I don't see myself in the mirror anymore.
Then it was time for lunch,we served food on the plates, but none of them even touched it,then someone started the prayer, they started eating only after they were done with the prayer.Nothing moved me as much as this did!Their minds were all clean, unadulterated. As we grow so we forget our morals, ideals(praying before meal 'not' being one of them). We kind of involuntarily absorb these 'survival-essentials' from the society.sadest part is kids who don't, are taunted with remarks like "grow up!",deemed innocent, not included in 'the' group, his date turns his request down,so slowly he moulds himself the way people around want him to be and voila!we've successfully soiled one more soul!

Guilt

The ultimate pleasure and its subsequent pang...and it is a mistress to morality.. so there we go.. the conscience fights the me..!! and mostly this tug-of-war that involves both your heart and your mind kills one of those.. and induces in you shame, embarassment.. and the most dangerous of all, but most common one as well.. feeling of unworthiness.. its usually a fight between who-i-am versus what-i-did.. but this is certainly one of the strongest driving forces that dominate our lives. life maybe black and white, but this one is certainly the grey in between. it is this ((lets call it so..)) emotion that has hence helped spine the spiritual quest.. religion and its writings on the wall have only furthered our classification of what is the right.. and what is the wrong.. though most of us might drear this feeling.. but what i love most about guilt is that it defintiely accompanies the strongest of all our desires.. pleasure, pain and the after.. ((thats the path of white to black.. and the pain in between is guilt.., the grey)) we hate it.. but we keep falling prey..So,Moral Of The Story is:Sometimes it is better to hold back on hard held desires... rather than nurturing the guilt behind fulfilling them... and if they are still necesary don't hold a guilt.. coz then you are guilty of or for each of them, the desires and the guilt.

No Board Exams:Dissection

No Board Exams!I personally feel that it is both good and bad news.Good because there will not be any pressure on the students to perform well in that one exam and as anyone would feel, the year in which students write their boards goes waste, even the schools are not willing to experiment on the tenth class students, their learning goes for a toss.Students are forced to attend tutions, concentrate on their syllabus alone, play less, study more.Peer pressure hits the red mark, not to mention the pressure put in by the family friends, neighbors n relatives.Everyone wants you to score an above 90 min. But,after all these years I still don't get the significance of the tenth boards,I scored well, topped school, all it earned me was a total fee relief in my +2,nothing much, noone even asked me how much I scored, ever!Unlike many colleges in the NCR,students in the southern part of India are more keen on pursuing Engg courses. So, to gain admission into a college we have to clear one Engg. Entrance test, apart from JEE,to get into a local college. So boards or no boards,it hardly matters. And as Mr.Sibal put it,class tenth is way to early in a student's life to choose a career. We started an NGO that deals specifically in this,we offer career counselling to kids of class IX and above on the career options they have, but our major challege is telling a kid from class IX,govt. school, what architchture is or what an aircraft maintainance engineer does.An exam on the lines of SAT,would be the best option.Board exams is an archaic means of teasting a student's calibre. It is just one exam, how can you judge whether a student is good enough based on that?It crushes the child psychologically,if he scores less. But,on the other side of it,we might be ignoring the average performer. There is still lots to think and do!Any changein the Higher Education policy,no matter how small, will touch every touch evey student, parent and family!

Love Aaj Kal

These days, whenever I see an unmarried couple, hand in hand/back from a movie/riding on a bike/lost in each others eyes at a coffee shop/waiting for her in the cellar of her apartment complex for 'only 5 mins' for the past half hour/following her cluelessly in a mall while she's busy pickin' up atleast a dozen black tops all of which look strikingly similar before deciding to go for another 'style' or because someone had told her that the colour of the thin line at the bottom right hand corner of the tee didn't match her personality or worse yet...didn't look good on her/waiting for ages outside the trail room just to say that she looks fab in the crappy outfit she chose/a guy pleading in front of his girlfriend coz he had her waiting for 5 mins/a guy running to every icecream vendor to check if he still has that flavour of icecream that his girlfriend ordered for at well past midnight/the guy flying down to his girl's city just to watch some mushy movie/rent a flat near to hers...I pity 'em..."Sonner or later they'll know what they are into!",I tell myself.
P.S.For those of you who tripped over this one thinking that it was the preview of the upcoming Saif starrer..sorry

Stick On!

Daily when I drive down to the office I see scores of vehicles(2,3,4 n more wheelers) each having a wierd sticker on it.I don't care whatever the private stickers mean which would be more or less like their signature but I fail to comprehend what a 'Ferrari logo' on an old FIAT Padmini means or stuff like "I am not driving high,am flying low" or "Moto GP",on a Pulsar or similar 150CC+ segment bikes, what is it? a racing bike? and how?I still don't understand why bike owners classify a 150CC bike as a racing bike,it is not!Only that we got so used to seeing the 100 and 125 ones that we feel these are better.fair enough. My personal fav is "Sorry babe's, no lift"...whatever "babe's" means!Even better are "Bite My Dust!" or a fist with the wrong finger stickin' out! Now,how did the guy driving behind you bother you?Am not even mentioning the "I hate Rules!","I give a damn",Ruck Fules and all the similar crappy stuff.I personally feel that what ever you have on your bike/car reflects your nature, fake aggression,I-don-give-a-flak attitude shows nothing...it just passes off.
